Workshop 1: Implementing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 2030 (SDG’s) in Community and Educational Ecosystems

Target Audience

ASEAN and Australian Education and City Leaders interested in how city, university and education planning can incorporate the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals. Examples will be given in the plenary session on how both Adelaide and Penang are implementing the SDG’s as well as universities in ASEAN and Australia.

Rationale

The UN Sustainable Development Goals cover 17 goals that require implementation to be realised. City and University planners across ASEAN, Australia and globally are taking on the challenge of how to implement these ambitious targets and how partnerships can help in this process.

The Workshop Objectives

The workshop theme will explore:

1. The challenges facing ASEAN and Australian educational institutions in addressing the SDG’s

2. Student support of the SDG’s

3. Education leaders and their role in implementing the SDG’s inside the organisation

4. Practical ways in which the SDG’s can be implemented
