About Us
The ASEAN-Australia Education Dialogue (AAED) supports people-to-people and institutional cooperation through partnerships between ASEAN and Australian education and training providers as well as other key stakeholders. AAED was first convened in 2018 with support from the Australian government and the Australian Embassy to ASEAN.
AAED 2024 co-convened in Vientiane, the capital city of Lao PDR by Australia's ASEAN Focus Group (AFG VG) together with regional higher education peak body the ASEAN University Network (AUN).
AAED 2025 will convene from December 1-4 in UNESCO World Heritage Georgetown, Penang a vibrant multicultural, commercial and historic city strategically located in the centre of Southeast Asia.
The Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and the Department of Education, Skills and Employment (DESE) through its representatives based in embassies and high commissions across Southeast Asia are supporting partners of AAED. We also work with Australian State Government offices across ASEAN and multiple ASEAN and Australian education sector partners. We are also proud to work with the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO).
