Overview

The ASEAN-Australia Education Dialogue (AAED) serves as a Track 2 educational diplomacy platform to strengthen the current links between ASEAN and Australia. The Dialogue will also expand people-to-people and institutional cooperation through partnerships with a range of ASEAN and Australian education and training institutions. Building on the success of the AAED 2018 convened in Penang, Malaysia and again in 2019, AAED 2020 will be held in Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, AAED Webinar Series 2020 continues to provide opportunities for thought leaders, key government officials, business representatives and education practitioners from ASEAN and Australia, to come together to share ideas, build connections, and identify new regional opportunities. Acknowledging the increasing importance of leadership in international education to the growth and success of the education sector, AAED Webinar Series 2020 convenes under the banner of Country Focus and Thematic on 'Quality Assurance in Online Learning".

The Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and the Department of Education, Skills and Employment (DESE) through its representatives based in embassies and high commissions across Southeast Asia continue to be supporting partners of AAED. We are also delighted to work with the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) Secretariat, the ASEAN University Network (AUN) and educational think tank the HEAD Foundation based in Singapore.
