Date : Thursday, 29th October 2020
Time : 2:00PM - 3:30PM (Sydney) Time Zone Converter
Venue : Zoom
About the Session
English is the official language of ASEAN. Across the region, online learning is the new normal in a COVID-19 era. How are education institutions in the ELT sector approaching the issues of Quality Assurance (QA) and Best Practice?
This webinar will provide a platform to share experiences from both an ASEAN and Australian perspective, drawing on the learnings from English Language Training (ELT) institutions and quality assurance bodies.
This session will explore:
-
How have ELT institutions been managing the challenges of online learning in a sector that has historically had face to face teaching and learning as a key feature of delivery?
-
How is the Digital Divide impacting on student access to online learning for ELT in ASEAN and Australia? What steps are being taken to address the challenges?
-
Is there an understanding and agreement emerging on what constitutes “best practice” in online learning for ELT and how is this being encouraged and evaluated?
-
How is the shape of QA in ELT centre management changing due to the pandemic?
-
What are students feeding back about their recent experience of online learning?
-
How is the English Language Testing ecosystem responding to COVID-19?
-
What will the ASEAN ELT sector look like in 2025 including the benchmarking of Teacher Qualifications as well as Professional Development?
